Выпускаются три варианта Miranda IM - Unicode (только для Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7/8), ANSI (для любых систем, в том числе Windows 95/98/ME), и x64 (для Windows x64). Вариант Unicode позволяет общаться более чем на двух языках одновременно, поддерживая любые кодировки. Вариант ANSI кроме английской поддерживает лишь еще одну кодировку (например русскую), но в отличие от варианта Unicode работает на любой системе.

Именно его обновления не нашел, но искать надо начинать отсюда.

Если подойдет, можно попробовать ListeningTo V.0.3.1.0.

Вот всё терзают меня смутные сомнения: ставить или не ставить 64-битную Mirand`у на 64-битную Windows 7 ?

Это ведь, как я понимаю, простым перенесением профиля из Mirand`ы x32 (как в случае с Opera x32 при переходе на Opera x64 соответственно)
не отделаешься, плагины повырубаются.

У меня стоит х32, и если честно не понимаю зачем нужна 64битная...

Вот и пытаюсь выяснить, зачем нужна Miranda x64.

Видимо это пошло с стех пор когда 64-х битная виндовс не могла запускать 32битные приложения...
